The
Met State Disconnection was a newsletter that
was distributed monthly to the employees of the
facility in the early 90's right before closing.
The newsletter was an unabashed voice from the
staff to the staff. Hospital management and administrators
didn't take kindly to these letters due to the
content and the "dirt" being told on
a monthly basis. These letters were left in cafeterias,
posted on corkboards and left elsewhere throughout
the hospital. As you'll see, the person behind
these letters did not hold back his/her opinion. To
this day the writer(s) remain anonymous.
Please
note that the statements and stories made in these
letters are from the author(s) only and they're
not written by me or any other employees or patients
at Metropolitan State Hospital. Thank you to the
former Metro employees for bringing this information
forward. Additional newsletters will be updated
periodically.
